Adjudicator - Anna Robinson
Anna is a clarinettist playing regularly in and around Hampshire. She trained at the University of Southampton under Dai Pritchard and Steve Dummer. She completed her MMus in Music Performance with Distinction. Her final recital, Jazz in a Classical key, concluded her studies.
Anna performs regularly as principal clarinetist with Magna Sinfonia, highlights include playing Eb clarinet for Berlioz Symphony Fantastique and performing Carmina Burana at the Lighthouse in Poole. More recently, Anna performed as a part of Questa Musica Symphonic Rock at the Bournemouth O2 Academy where she was delighted to have the opportunity to play the eclectic Bass Clarinet, Eb clarinet and Basset horn.
Anna featured as a soloist with Romsey Chamber Orchestra in November 2023 performing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto.
Anna works as a single reed specialist at Southampton Music Hub and is particularly passionate about inclusion in music. She has worked with Sam Mason (BSO) in an open orchestra project, involving both mainstream and SEN students.
Anna is also Musical Director of both Southampton Youth Concert Sinfonia and Airplay wind band.
Anna's own musical experiences have encouraged her to work with young musicians to inspire the next generation.
